First Nations Family Fun Day

A unique and fun filled day of cultural learning | 12 Apr | Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct

First Nations Family Fun Day

Join Kabi Kabi and Jinibara First Nations People for a unique, fun filled day of cultural learning. Games, dancing, and craft activities for all ages.

The event is held during the Australian Heritage Festival, the country's largest community-driven heritage event, with the theme 'Connections'. Our Sunshine Coast Heritage is rich and very long, so this event provides a fun way to unite our communities through a shared respect for culture and heritage to build stronger relationships. Throughout the day visitors will enjoy the rich and diverse stories of our natural, cultural, built, and Indigenous heritage.

The precinct provides the perfect place to enjoy a journey of heritage discovery. Visitors can tour the old house, take in the exhibition at the modern Mary Grigor centre, take a self-guided tour through the ‘Shed’ or just enjoy the fun day.

This event is funded by the Sunshine Coast Council, Arts and Heritage Levy. The Levy, which is charged to every rateable property, is used to document, research, conserve, protect, promote and provide access to those tangible and intangible items, places, facilities and events that define the stories, history and values of the people, communities and culture of the Sunshine Coast.
